About Lynn Spencer

My passion is abstraction.  I paint intuitively and am often inspired by nature and my extensive travel experiences.  My artistic challenge is to balance space, colour, value and harmonious shapes, that connect across the canvas and create balance and focus.  My enthusiasm and joy in painting fills me with energy. I am always experimenting  creatively.  I want the viewer to connect deeply with my art and feel my energy in their visual experience.  

My intuitive process is to make loose marks on the canvas with charcoal and pencil, then the use of acrylic paint with a limited palette.  I scrape, spray and soften edges, play with shapes and colour, while rotating the canvas.  I enjoy this process which gives me the direction of the piece as it comes together on the canvas.
